Rolwaling Trek – 22 Days

Rolwaling is a remote and rugged Himalayan valley in northeastern Nepal, situated within the Dolakha District along the border with Tibet. Known as a “Beyul,” or one of the seven sacred “hidden valleys” in Buddhist mythology, it is believed to have been blessed by Guru Rinpoche as a sanctuary for his followers. The region remains largely untouched by modern commercialization, offering a raw and authentic experience of high-altitude life that is distinct from more popular trekking hubs like Everest or Annapurna.

The landscape of Rolwaling is dominated by the majestic Gaurishankar (7,134 m), a dual-summit peak that holds deep religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists, representing the deities Shiva and Parvati. At the heart of the valley lies Tsho Rolpa, one of Nepal’s largest glacial lakes, situated at an altitude of 4,580 meters. The valley’s geography is famously steep and narrow, leading to its local name, which translates to “the valley carved by a plough”.

The valley is primarily inhabited by the Sherpa and Tamang people, whose lifestyles are deeply tied to the land through yak herding and high-altitude farming. The village of Beding is renowned as the “home of the summiteers,” as nearly every household boasts a resident who has successfully scaled Mount Everest. Culturally, the region is a “no-kill zone,” where ancient spiritual laws prohibit the slaughter of animals, preserving a peaceful coexistence with local wildlife like snow leopards and red pandas. For adventurers, trekking in Rolwaling is a moderately strenuous endeavor that rewards visitors with unmatched solitude. The trail follows the Tamakoshi River and winds through lush rhododendron forests before ascending into the stark, alpine beauty of Na Gaon. More experienced mountaineers often continue beyond Tsho Rolpa to cross the challenging Tashi Lapcha Pass (5,755 m), which provides a high-altitude bridge into the Khumbu region of Everest.

The journey combines physical challenge, cultural encounters, and some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in the world, making it a once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan experience.

Best of Annapurna Trek – 20 Days – Circuit of Annapurna Base Camp, Kopra Ridge and Poon Hill

Annapurna refers to both a massive Himalayan Mountain range and its highest peak, Annapurna I, the 10th highest mountain globally (8,091m) in north-central Nepal, famous for its extreme climbing difficulty, breathtaking beauty, and spiritual significance (named after the Hindu goddess of food). The massif features many high peaks (over 7,000m), is bordered by the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge, and is central to popular treks like the Annapurna Circuit, offering diverse landscapes and cultures.

Best Of Annapurna Trek Trail

From Pokhara we’ll trek first towards Annapurna base camp in the heart of the Annapurna sanctuary to enjoy an arena view of the 4 Annapurnas (I, 8091m 10th highest mountain and II-IV) and other peaks all above 7000m. We will then return to Chhomrong, and from here head west through alpine forests to Kopra ridge.

The camp on Kopra hill offers exceptional panoramic views of the entire Annapurna range including a fearsome close view of Dhaulagiri (8167m, 7th highest mountain) with a steep face that plunges into the Kali Gandakhi River creating the deepest gorge in the world.

A day hike north east of camp will bring us to Khayer lake (~4000m), a sacred lake worshiped by locals during the Badau Purnima festival. Our trail finally winds down to Ghorepani for sunrise views of the Annapurna range from Pun hill, before we trek back towards Pokhara.

Upper Mustang Trek – 22 Days

Upper Mustang, historically the Kingdom of Lo, is a remote trans-Himalayan desert in Nepal that remained closed to the world until 1992. Founded in 1380 by the warrior Ame Pal, it served as a vital trade link between Tibet and India. Although Nepal abolished its monarchy in 2008, the region’s walled capital, Lo Manthang, remains a cultural fortress where the lineage of the former kings is still deeply revered by the local Loba people.

The landscape is a striking high-altitude desert, tucked in the rain shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Unlike the rest of Nepal, this region features wind-carved red cliffs, deep canyons, and arid plateaus that resemble the Tibetan highlands. Because the mountains block the monsoon, it is one of the few places in the Himalayas ideal for trekking during the summer months, offering a surreal backdrop of ochre hills and white-washed villages.

Culturally, Upper Mustang is a living museum of ancient Tibetan Buddhism. It is home to Ghar Gompa, one of the world’s oldest monasteries, and thousands of mysterious “Sky Caves” carved into vertical cliffs. Every year, the vibrant Tiji Festival brings these traditions to life through masked dances. In 2026, the region remains protected as a restricted area, ensuring that its unique heritage is preserved even as modern roads begin to connect it to the outside world.
